One of the most sought after pieces is the original large carpet bags, otherwise know as Mary Poppins bags! This huge piece of luggage from the 1960s is like a doctors bag in style and is made from a cotton tapestry, rather than a carpet fabric which makes it a little lighter. Sturdy and stiffened, it will fit everything you need for a long weekend away. A short grab bag makes it easy to carry, and there is a loop so you can add your own vintage padlock for security. But perhaps the best bit is that you can open it totally, allowing you to find your shoes right at the bottom really easily. This is your sign to start travelling in style!

• Very large size
• Cotton geometric tapestry fabric to the outside.
• Plastic and vinyl interior
• One large interior pocket, stiffened plastic bottom
• Leather grab handle
• Tab either side of frame to pull open bag
• Metal frame with latch clasps to the ends, and loop to the centre for a small padlock
• Plastic trim
• Brass feet to the bottom
• Hinge to the inside to allow to be fully open
• No labels

Condition

There is some marks to the brass frame, as well as a little verdigris to some parts namely near the lock hook and the clasps. There is a little scratches on the handle. The original lock is missing. All expected from age.
