Beautiful late 1940s early 1950s brown and black striped taffeta dress, with a wonderfully large pussy bow front that is oh so adorable! Quite unusual to find taffeta in brown, this dress is made that little bit less girly with the addition of the bold black stripe, that has been created with the lines going in all different directions.......but check out the amazing pattern matching on the skirt! With the addition of the black faceted glass beads, this really reminds me of an amazing frock worn by a well to do lady in the wild west just with a 40s twist.

• Large pussy bow to the top of the neckline
• Small stand up collar
• Full, flared skirt with great pattern matched stripes
• Faceted black glass buttons to the front of the dress, and to the back of each sleeve
• Bracelet length slightly full sleeve with a shaped open cuff
• Pussy bow fastens with a hook and loop and a popper
• Small shoulder pads to hold the slight puff shoulder shape
• Belt loops, no belt
• Made from a mid-weight, shiny brown silk taffeta with a raised black thread stripe - colour closest to the last photo. It is not as shiny in person, the fabric picked up the brightness from the studio lights
• Fastens using metal zip to the side, Lightening brand
• Percy Trilnick label to the back, with the carnation logo. Percy was well known for having a white carnation in his lapel which became his signature.
• Unlined
• There are a couple of nicks & rubs to the taffeta from age on the back of the collar. There is also a bit of wear to each shoulder from rubbing on the hanger over time, which has resulted in a slight fade to the fabric. These are shown in the last photos
• Care/composition: No labels
